I (stupidly) left a stainless steel spoon in the blender jar. Stainless steel don’t blend! So I needed a new blade assembly. This product is a much better (and faster) deal than getting it from Vitamix. The supplied handle/wrench makes replacing the blade quite easy. One tip though. You REALLY need to crank on the wrench to fully seal the blade so it doesn’t leak out of the bottom of the blender jar. I thought I’d sealed it, but after rinsing the jar, there were droplets of water underneath the nut assembly.

I’ve had my vitamix for about 9 or 10 years now. Started noticing tiny bits left in my smoothies. So I found this kit on Amazon about a month ago. It had mixed reviews but I decided to give it a whirl. LOVE IT! The tool makes it so easy to take the blender apart. The blade assembly is not an exact match to the old blade (its a little bigger) but that doesn’t matter. It pulverizes everything completely. There is no wobble in my vitamix like some other reviews have mentioned. I am so happy. I use my vitamix almost everyday. Now it’s back to its original performance. I’m hoping to get another 10 years out of the motor. At that time it will be another vitamix for me.

Highly suggest. My vitamin kept hanging up as bearings started freezing up in container. I looked at buying new container but pricey then I found this replacement blade. Arrived and came with tool to unscrew blade and install new. Works perfectly and was easy to replace ( took minutes). I have been using new blade daily for my smoothies for weeks and is great. Definitely worth it

July 21 2023. Five starts so far, if the blade’s bearings go, I WILL come back update.I read a lot of reviews – I love Amazon’s reviewers and system as if I read enough I usually know what I’m in for especially lower reviews and their complaints. Scanning this product, several mentioned the blade assembly didn’t fit right, or was off balance, or leaked. A few said bearings went too soon.Pic 1 – Old blade and new blade. They look identical, though the newer blade’s metal is definitely cheaper.Pic 2- I should have showed the whole wrench, it did an awesome job – I tried to turn the bottom lock ring without it and it was NOT worth the effort, 8 dollars well spent.Pic 3- Old assembly fits hole with NO gaps.Pic 4- New assembly has small gap, so the manufacturer dimensions are off by a millimeter.Pic 5- Location under the rubber protector, at the back side, where I had to drill with a 5/32 bit.Pic 6- White rubber stopper removed. Hole drilled.Complaint (from Reviewers) 1: blade assembly didn’t fit. I suspect these people didn’t have a 5200 model. Ours was 2009, Super 5200. But it didn’t work right the first time I put it in.Complaint 2: It didn’t work right. This is a precision machine and the placement matters. The first time I seated it we spun water and it didn’t sound or look right at all, vibrations galore. I removed the assembly and this time could see that it seemed to fit better one way (there are two flat spots you match to the carafe) so I tried again, and it was better but not perfect. 3rd try I had to take the lock nut off, with the wrench and examine the threads on the nut and there was some gunk, so I cleaned out the threads with a jeweler screw driver and then sprayed a little lubricant (silicon). It could have been that or the third tightening that finally did it but it spins like new now.NOTES: You get a replacement female end as well, which goes on your machine. It was a bear – learn from my mistakes. 1. Once you lift the cover and remove the plug you can use the hex wrench to loosen the screw but for our old machine, the screw head as a bit bigger than then hole and this old screw was shorter so when it released I just pulled the old female end out and the screw went flying! Careful. 2. Putting it back together the new screw didn’t fit through the old hole and while fiddling at first I actually dropped it into the machine. Luckily, there’s just four screws (where to four corners of the rubber protector are, you can miss them) and I pulled off just the knob on the front and the top of the Vitamix separated easily, WHEW. 3) After drilling a first hole, I tried to use the shorter, smaller screw which didn’t tighten enough and that was not good. It came apart while testing and started chewing black plastic, my bad. I drilled bigger 5/32 and used the longer CORRECT screw and it worked perfectly, go figure.Hope this helps someone else!
